Real Estate Tax Bills Mailed
August 1, 2023
The Washington County Treasurer’s Office mailed the 2022 payable 2023 Real Estate Tax bills on August 1, 2023. The total amount of taxes to collect is $29,121,564.50.
The first installment of taxes is due on September 15, 2023 and the second installment is due on October 27, 2023. To avoid late penalty charges, your tax bill must be paid by each due date. The installment due dates will be enforced. Postmarks on mailed payments will be honored.
The last day to pay online, by personal check or by business check is Friday, November 17, 2023. After that date, only cash, bank cashier’s check or money order will be accepted.
The delinquent tax sale will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024.
We encourage you to make your payment(s) by mail, online, or by using the payment drop box located near the south entrance of the courthouse (DO NOT PLACE CASH IN THE DROP BOX). If you wish to receive a receipt, be sure to include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. If you wish to pay in person, please bring your bill and/or the appropriate stubs with your payment. Please be aware that we will make every effort to accommodate everyone as quickly as possible in our office. MOBILE HOME TAX BILLS MAILED
April 19, 2023
The Washington County Treasurer’s office mailed out the 2023 Mobile Home Tax bills on April 19, 2023. One hundred thirty-eight bills have been sent out, totaling $11,349.07.
The Mobile home Taxes are due by Friday, June 30, 2023. Failure to pay the bill will result in a penalty of $25.00 per month, not to exceed $100.00. Unpaid taxes will result in a lien being filed on the property. If you are responsible for payment and do not receive a bill, please contact the Treasurer’s Office to obtain a copy of the bill. Failure to receive a tax bill will not relieve from paying taxes or late penalties.
Payment Options:
In Person: Mobile Home taxes may be paid in person at the Washington County Treasurer’s Office located at the Washington County Courthouse. Cash, check, money order, or bank cashier’s check accepted. Office hours are 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
Via Mail: Please send check, money order, or bank cashier’s check, along with payment stub to:

Via dropbox: Please place payment in the dropbox located at the south entrance to the Courthouse, behind the east lamppost. DO NOT PLACE CASH IN THE DROPBOX! Check, money order, or bank cashier’s check accepted.
To receive a receipt, send the entire bill via mail or dropbox with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. We will stamp the top portion of the bill paid and return it to you only if stamped envelope is provided.
**Credit/debit card or online payments cannot be accepted for Mobile Home taxes. No partial payments will be accepted. Payment is void if your check fails to clear.

When searching for your parcel, please enter the parcel/PIN number, (without dashes) or by name only! Do not fill in other fields!
Payment of Real Estate taxes may be made online, by mail, in office, or placed in the County drop box. The drop box is located at the south entrance to the courthouse on E. St. Louis Street.

- Do not mail in cash payments or make cash payments in the drop box.

Each installment must be paid by the due dates printed on the stubs or a 1 1/2% penalty per month will apply! Interest increase amounts and dates are on the stubs for your convenience.

Mobile Home Tax Information
The Treasurer’s Office mails Mobile Home tax bills to owners in April with a due date of June 30 of the current year. Mobile Home bills are not available online, and cannot be paid online. Payment of Mobile Home taxes may be made by mail, in office, or using the County drop box. Failure to pay the bill will result in a penalty of $25.00 per month, not to exceed $100.00. Unpaid taxes will result in a lien filed on the mobile home at the end of the calendar year.
